Not all chickens are created equal...
Stuffed in a grab bag and transported to a farm via the US Postal Service, Reginald discovers he's far more than a mail order rooster. His fondness for reading, adventure, humans and hens attract attention- both wanted and unwanted. Bullies, babies, predators and paramours are just a few of the things he has to navigate in this zany, coming of age story.

This is Book 1 in the Cocky Doodle Doo series, with plenty of adventures to come!

Note: While most of the story is family friendly, this book contains "adult chicken situations".

Light and light hearted!

Absolutely fun read. I laughed out loud in places (garnering strange looks because I was in the doctor's waiting room at the time). Cute little rooster happy to share "moments" with his ladies and with us. I look forward to reading more of his stories! Very highly recommended.

A day in the life of chickens...
This fun and quick listen takes you into the life and times of a rooster and his farm mates. You will learn about their romances, disagreements, as well as shenanigans they get into. It was very entertaining to hear how they view us humans, other animals and how they connected to form relationships. If you have chickens, or not, it is a great listen! I look forward to hearing the continuation of the story!

I was expecting maybe an allegory between chicken life and people life and didn't get that vibe here at all. Instead, we hear from Reginald the Chicken about his birth and coming of age. He has obstacles to overcome and he does that with the help of all the farm animals. He has a close connection with a daughter on the farm and there is some correlation between her obstacles and Reginald's obstacles. A fun story about life with the chickens on a family farm told through the eyes of a very educated and suave chicken. Looking forward to listening to more of the doings on the farm.

Cute, like a children's book
A story from the perspective of a rooster about not knowing where babies come from. (Yeah, I wasn't expecting it either....but a cute listen.)

Best book in the series
I have listened to this series in order and I think each one gets better than the last. This book follows the educated and resourceful Rooster named Reginald and he and his fellow roosters try to figure out why the hens don't want to give the farmer their eggs and why they won't get up from their nests. Not going to give it away, but the ending is very heart warming. Props to the narrator who handled the chicken and farmyard animal voices perfectly. This has been a fun series and I am glad I gave it a chance. This audio book was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review

Scary Shenanigans in the Hen House
After listening to book one in the series and knowing more of what to expect, I was anxious to continue the tales of Reginald the Rooster, a suave and educated resident of a family farm. While book one set the stage for Reginald, I feel like book two was able to show more of Reginald's personality and his interactions with the other animals. It is the chickens first Halloween and they don't quite know what to expect. Then some scary things happen and the farmyard is on edge until the mystery is unraveled. The narrator does very well with the narration of Reginald and all the other animals. Fun listen!

So fun to read! This book is so creative and comical! I had a great time reading it. Some of the things that the author came up with like “God rest ye merry gentle chicks.” There were also “Jingle Eggs” and “Grandma got ran over by a rooster” to make their Christmas joyful!! This is a joyful, light, fun read for the holidays!

I came into this series late, but soon picked up the story line. It's a fun, children's story following the farmyard animals and farm's family through the eyes of the "hero", Reginald Fowl. The story tackles the problem of bullying and how certain members of the brood try to turn it around, along with their eventual understanding of the antagonists problem. This is a bit of fun for children and adults alike.

Dickens and Chickens!
Another fun story of life in the chicken coop, told by a Rooster with a passion for classics. The chickens are having problems with another rooster in their flock, and if they don't stop fighting, the wife of the farm has threatened that a rooster or two will end up on the dinner table. Reginald the Rooster writes to Santa for help. He also sets up A Christmas Carol Chicken Edition for Sweetie the chicken with the help of all the other animals. At first, it seems that help is not coming from either Santa or his reenactment, until help does come and will have you believing in Santa all over again, This is a fun series, with excellent and creative writing and the perfect narrating to go along with it.
